Service Description
This 5-week intermediate pottery wheel course is designed for returning students who are comfortable with the basics and ready to refine their technique. Rather than introducing foundational skills, this series focuses on consistency, control, and developing more intentional forms. Students will build on their existing knowledge of centering and pulling to improve wall evenness, shape with more precision, and explore more complex forms such as taller cylinders, bowls, and altered pieces. Each session offers guided instruction alongside open throwing time, allowing space for repetition, troubleshooting, and individual feedback. This class is ideal for students who have taken a beginner wheel course (or have equivalent experience) and are looking to grow in confidence, skill, and personal style at the wheel. Example Curriculum: - Refining cylinders + pulling taller, more consistent forms - Shaping jars with lids and improved proportions - Introduction to bottle forms (necking + controlled shaping) - Surface design using underglaze (pattern, layering, and detail) Classes meet weekly on Thursdays from 6:00–8:00 PM. Students may make as much as they like during class and select their five favorite pieces to keep. All supplies are included; please bring a personal apron and hand towel. Students also have access to open studio time on Saturdays from 1:30–4:00 PM, where they may work independently on their pieces. All payments are final. Refunds are not offered for booked classes unless there is an error on our end.
