Figure Sculpting Fundamentals
Archetypes in Clay: Exploring the Human Story Through Form
Available spots
Service Description
In this reflective sculpting course, participants explore the human condition through the language of clay. Guided by the principles of art therapy and symbolism, each session invites you to shape the figure not only as anatomy, but also as metaphor — a vessel for emotion, story, and transformation. Through the process of hand-building and figurative abstraction, you’ll discover how the human form can reveal archetypal themes within your own life: strength and fragility, love and loss, breaking and becoming. Each sculpture becomes a mirror of the inner world — a tangible expression of what it means to be human. No prior sculpting experience required. All materials provided. Just bring an open mind, a willingness to explore, and clothes that can get messy. A look inside this course: Week 1: Exploring archetypes - Introduction to symbolic art and Jungian archetypes (The Self, The Shadow, The Child, The Seeker, The Creator, The Lover, etc.) - Participants will chose an archetype that resonates with their current life phase - Participants will then create sketches of symbols and figures to better communicate their theme of choice.
